If you are planning on only 30% offroad then I would suggest against mud tires. Unless you like the road noise. Those Cepeks you will wear down in about 40K miles. I would suggest the Pro-Comp x-treme all terrain. They have really wide siping for an all terrain so they almost act like a mud terrain but are quiet on road, plus they last much longer. They look quite aggressive as well. Ive seen them last well over 60K miles as long as you are on top of rotations and air pressure. Oh, by the way. Pro comp is one of the few companies that offers a tread life warranty on an aggressive/commercial tire.

315/75R-16, Pro Comp Xtreme All Terrain Radial PCT56315

* Load Range D
* Max Load 3195
* Tread Depth 20/32
* Overall Diameter 34.6 Inches
* Black SideWall
* Sidewall Construction= 2-Ply
* 40,000 Mile Tread Wear Warranty

i cant see any big mud tire lasting over 40k on a powerstroke anymore, all new production tires seem to suck as they have changed the rubber compounds. everything seems to be wearing VERY fast. i prefer mud tires to street tread anyday. depending on what you buy the noise is only that of an all terrain. you cant really be complaining about tire noise with that 7.3 under teh hood!!!!

i liek the performance of the new bfg mud terrain km2's a guy at wotk has them on his jeep, they handle very nice and throw some serious mud! it is his daily driver and they have a low hum to them, slightly louder then a bfg at.

i just picked up some super swamper ssr's i cant wait to get them mounted, should be monday. i will post some videos of teh ride and sound that afternoon

KM2's are holding up nicely, drove across the country with them. Maybe not the best for ice, but in rain, snow, rock, and mud, they've been solid. Have maybe done only 5k miles on them and they look almost new.

With all the weight we have in the front, you need something tough just for getting around. When I first got my truck I had a gravel driveway and some all terrain form of coopers with 1/2" of tread left. A rock went right through one of the front tires.

If you believe the ads...they have little suction cup things. Also in general they have more surface area than the big knobbies.

I like the Hankook Dynapro MT RT03's. I run a 315/75/16 And they are ten ply. My father in law runs them on his titan and gets about 45,000+ miles out of them, I'm not sure what my cc psd will get, as it's pretty f'n heavy. They do excellent on dry with about the same noise level as the bfg at's I ran, excellent in mud, and snow, and great for rock climbing

cooon i like those km2's also but after reading some reviews online about 40 MT and AT tires ppl said that they wore down fast and were to spendy. they best mt i read about was the cepek mud country tire. and no im not getting an AT tire its time for some aggressive mud destroying tires.

the bfg's have a different rubber compound on them now, it does suck for longevity, but the softer tread makes it even more for offroad traction with rocks and on pavement. its a trade off. i got 30k out of my last set. i wasnt too happy about that but they are an excellent tire. i have high hopes for these super swampers- i cant wait to try them out

Swampers will be even less. Usually around 20K at most.

I was looking at getting the cepek mud crushers with the skull and bone side grabbers on them, But for my jeep not my truck though, I dont think mud tires would go over to well on a dually.

I have a run a couple of sets of the DC Fun Country IIs and they great all year round tires. For glare ice not so much but most all other conditions great tires and long wearing. In addition I get them sipped which adds traction for winter and also disperses heat in summer better for tire longevity...

welli would do 30k in about 3 years so that would be ok with me. and i like those km2's because they dont look exactly like a super aggresive mud tire but are more aggressive than an at.
