I am asking this question for my boss. He has a 2004 f250 harley edtion 6.0. Did these trucks have a "wait to start" light? He says that if so it has never worked as he bought the truck new.

 

Nearly every diesel vehicle with glow plugs will have a wait to start light. On my 05, its located top center in between the tach and speedo. (Nevermind--this is for xlt, not harley davidson ed.)

its on the left hand side of the instrument cluster, looks like a little spring or pigs tail or something, does not say wait to start

 

Is that for the Harley Davidson Edition only? I guess I never thought it'd have a different gauge setup.

 

Ah I don't know, I'm not sure if they were so much different that it would be in a different location on those years.

 

From 2002 when Ford changed the cluster on the Super Duty, on up, it's a little pigtail that lights up

The 25mph hash on the speedo points right to on initial start up in the video below. This is the 2005 cluster and is only to show what the "pigtail" or WTS light looks like.

Below is what the cluster looks like for the 2002-2004 MY. This is on a 2003 MY truck, Note that the light is in the far right hand corner:

2002-2004 WTS is on the far left, above the engine light, below WIF, before it starts... ABS and brake light are on bottom right..

Thanks for all input guys. Guess he like myself was looking for a light with the words not a symbol.

 

Something like that would be in the owners manual, wouldn't it?

 

The owner's manual has an instrument cluster layout for all editions. Look for the glow plug symbol.

 

I will let him know that lol. but then again he is the boss/owner of the company and don't want to make him think I am makeing fun of him or that he is dumb lol.
