Hi all. I didn't take the cowl and wipes off. I just unbolted it. and pulled it out to where i can barely get access. Anyway, there is a 8mm bolt holding it on to the linkage. At least i think it is an 8mm bolt. Son of a bitch is in there good. don't want to snap it off. Does Anyone know if it the bolt loosens counter clockwise normally or is it reverse threads??
Sounds like red loctite was used. Heat is the best way to break that down. Then get a universal socket that uses rods that drop down and surround the bolt flats.
Ultimately you may need to drill out the bolt and re-tap the hole if it is hopelessly stuck - brass will make that an easier process. Also there are some sonic devices that can be used to remove the bolt.
You need to heat it up with a torch. That should do it. But often an impact wrench will also do it because of the hammering action of the impact tool. Another solution is the cut the nut off either with a cut off tool or a nut splitter.
hope this helps good luck!!! USE HEAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
