There were big problems with those trucks.....so Ford bought 'em back and gave original buyer a new truck or such a great deal he couldn't refuse it.... To buy one is a crap shoot.
The trucks are not crap nor do they have any problems with them at this point. In the state of california an owner can complain about anything wrong with there vehicle and the manufacturer will buy it back. They could complain that the radio doesn't sound good or the windows don't roll up fast enough. California is the only state that will do this. The vehicle will have a piece of paper with it that says what the complaint was and what Ford (or any other brand) did to the vehicle to fix it. As long as you do not live in the state of California you will be issued a CLEAN title. The only thing that will follow the vehicle is the carfax. If you do live in Cali you will get a lemon law buy back branded title. The vehicle will also come with a 12 month BUMPER TO BUMPER warranty. A big reason people did this was to get out from their payments because ford would give them more than the dealer would on trade. There is a dealer in Columbia, MO called Joe Machens Ford, they have a huge selection of Powerstrokes and they deal with the factory buy backs.
