I have a 351 ho in my 85 bronco. I am having a bad flooding problem. There is a steady drip in the secondarys. I have done some research on this carb and dont really want to waste money and try to rebuild it. I am thinking of going with a 1406 edelbrock. I just want a good reliable carb that doesnt have to be tinkered with all the time. Any suggestions??

Scott,
I have been running a 600 CFM Holley 4160 for 7 years now with no problems what so ever. I don't drive our F250 4x4 that much but every time I go out to start & run it it never fails.
A 4160 is a direct bolt on with kickdown, vac secondaries. The 4180 is a good carb but they are expensive to rebuild. I believe the last time I checked the kit was around $90.
Craig, so you are saying the holly will allow me to have my passing gear linkage hooked up and functional? I have a edelbrock on my f-350 460 and the passing gear has no where to go. I did buy the special part the edelbrock sales to hook it up but it didnt work. One thing I am concerned about is the power valve I have heard that one back fire and it is shot. Did you have to do much tuning on it??
I used the Ede on my 77 and it hooked up fine with that bolt-on kick down part. I now have it on my 63 F100 with a 351W/C6. You may have to bend the rod itself some to hook it up.
4160 is a Model number meaning single fuel line with vacuum secondary. Most do not have the Ford kick-down on them. A list 0-9834 and 0-6919 do for sure as do some of the newer models.
Did you try adjusting the float down a little or removing the needle and seat to clean it out? It should be externally adjustable.
