Improper Timing?
Hey guys what are the effects on an engine of improper timing. What symptoms will it have if it's retarded to much? What are the symptoms of to much adavnce. I ask because I just got my truck back with a 4bbl intake and carb(which is still an ongoing tuning process
), but it still has many of the same issues just with a ton of extra power. I am wondering if it's not timing or some other ignition or spark issue.

"I am wondering if it's not timing or some other ignition or spark issue." Could very well be. Whatever it is will have to be found and corrected before tuning the carb. Vacuum leak? Ported or full vac source for the dizzy? Any number of things...
