I have been trying to get my 86 running for almost 2 years and i was able fire her up today.
I was given 2 1200 CCA batteries and that was all that was needed to get her running.
I need to do a couple more test to see if i need to remove the Oil Cooler again and re seal it to the block. (The guy I had R&R it didn't have the concept of how to use RTV) but no oil leaks to be seen just need to add water and see if any leaks.
I now need to replace the Brake Booster, steering column, and rework the glow plug system..
I work at our local hospital and they replace the batteries on the generator every year due to having an old car battery explode when the power went out a few years ago. They are the farm/industrial ones at Car Quest.
With these monsters i am going to have to mod the Driver side battery tray to make it fit correctly but for a pair of $200 batteries i ain't gonna complain.
Now I need to test one of the old ones to see if it is still good to go in my dodge.
