that's the problem we long term builders face.... we've lived through all the 'good ideas' and have to take the blame... I've looked back several times and said "why did I do that" ?? then I realize that it was 'the thing at the time'
Guess I'm a mess too. I've got one with a 72 Monte Carlo clip under it. But Hey when I did it in the early 80s it was the thing to do! Forgive me I know it's a sin.
Hey, I've got a 70 Chevelle clip under mine that I installed in the mid 80s. By the time the 90s came along I really thought it might be a mistake, but today, there are all kinds of aftermarket stuff for the A body suspensions, so I'm good with it again.

I'm still doing stuff that was the "thing" back in the 80s. Seat belt buckles for tailgate latches???????
I realize this is an old post BUT Do you still have the instructions for your tilt hing installation? I bought some 25 years ago and still have them uninstalled. Time, age, rats who knows but I can't find the instructions to install them. Not too familiar with how this site works to find your e-mail to contact you directly.
I haven't had much luck trying to get someone to scan them for me. I tried to take pictures of them. I don't know how easy they will be to read. They are just bad photocopies of bad photocopies. Not that great of directions but it covers the basics. They really went all out on them!!
Thanks Ted, I vaguely remember them from when I ordered my hinges but now I have them in digits. Did you cut your fenders like they suggest? Do you have any pictures of how yourself turned out?

I haven't got that far on mine either. I'm hoping to get the front clip work done this spring.
I haven't totally decided which way I'm going to cut the fenders yet.
you sir, are an artist.... very nice work...very nice...
looking at your slide/tilt brackets... assuming you have access to a machine shop... what do you think you have in time and $$ in those brackets... I love the design you came up with... should be smooth and slick and not all cootiebobbed. I've yet to see a slide/tilt that looked pro done but I think I will when I see your truck in action... Makes me want to contract with you to build another set and start over !!! NOT !!! but it's tempting... can't wait to see the whole thing complete and working... should be a work of art...
thanks for sharing all the pics... lots of folks will be helped by that (and your tilt arms look familiar)
