6.8L 3V's do not use cam phasers, as they are not VCT engines. I really wish they were-it would be easier to tweak a bit more low-load cruising economy out of them.

Well, I am extremely bummed out
After all the feedback, and the same day I started this thread, I called to let them know I would be stopping by to look at it and they told me it just sold a few hours before my call.. This truck was sitting on the lot for a few months so I assume this just wasnt meant to be.. Grrrrrr

I just need a very reliable 3/4 or 1 ton pick-up with crew cab and its been a venture trying to find one around here. It will mainly be used for family camping and towing my 30' camper so reliable is high priority.. My budget is under $25k.. If I go any higher than that, I would have to sell my current plow truck and drive whatever I buy fulltime, including plowing with it. My busy work schedule just doesnt allow me to travel to far which blows because there are some good deals outside of Michigan.

Wow, I didn't know that... I ***umed that all 3V engines had the cam phasers. Thanks Johnny!

Sorry to hear that Theisen. The good news is that there are solid trucks out there at good prices... you just have to be patient yet ready to buy when the opportunities arrive. Hang in there!
