Use a FE pattern C6 on a 302 Windsor?

(PREFACE: Let me start by saying, I know all the basic reasons why no one would want to do this because the reverse is much more desirable, e.g. use an AOD on a big block. But I am trying to see what I can do with what little I have to get this truck on the road. This is NOT my long-term plan, I have a GMC truck, financed, with $6000 or so equity in that I plan on selling, this is to get my 1973 F-100 on the road so I have something to drive in the mean time.)

Now that I have that out of the way...

I have a C6 that came out of the truck, formerly bolted to a 360 that ate a piston, cracking the block, I bought it because of the clean, rust free body.

I got a 302 out of a 1988 T-bird for $100, and a carbureted intake to swap it over from efi. It ran fine in the T-bird, but it's AOD transmission was already pulled.

I have both engines, flywheels, and torque convertors. So with what I have, what are my options as far as bolting them together sucessfully?

I assume it will require the 302 and the flywheel and torque converter that came with it, and an adapter plate I cannot find made anywhere. Or would I have to use the flywheel from the 360 and have it balanced like the one from the 302 was so I can make a starter fit?

If I've said anything stupid, educate me please, I am still learning, late in life, but still.

For what is is going to cost to have an adaptor plate made. You could find a c-6 core or housing only that went behind a 302 and change out the internals of your good c-6 to it.

I am slowly finding that to be true, it was worth a try. I guess the adapter would never exist for the "why the hell?" factor, it's only practical purpose would be to do what I am trying, use what I have.

I don't even know that it's good, just that it's what pushed the truck until someone's 16-year-old white-smoked the motor into oblivion.

My end product, after this powertrain "band-aid" is a 351w efi crate motor and a late AOD, I'm just trying to maintain transportation in the meantime while I park the GMC for sale.

A C6 from a van or truck would work fine, 302, 4.9 or 351W will donate.
