thanks guys...we've had a pretty ****ty week (me and sis, and both trucks, and other things...when it rains, it pours). a sympathetic ear is a wonderful thing
i had a heck of a time getting that little wire back on...i wiggled and yanked a good bit, so i think it's ok. the starter (surprise surprise) tested good again, but the connector from the solenoid to the starter was a little loose and arced sparks halfway across the store... LOL
anyway i tightened that...it's kinda scorched and melted off the covering. so- went to put statrer back in and it's freezing cold, so i dropped the nut for the little wire and it went bye bye. ran to home depot for some more and finally got everything wired up. lo and behold she started, so she's home. that plus the hot chocolate the lady at the church where i was working on her were the two good things that happened today. everything else....sucked. where are moms when u need a hug??
Not trying to be noisy or anything but you sound like you are young. I hope you truck problems get better.
Ah, yeah NAB, ***, NWS, and NAS... yep I remember them all well. I got told that my truck failed the inspection because the e brake didn't work, then they went to pull it out of the shop and stalled it because the e brake was still on... I think the guy felt stupid when he had to scrape the rejection sticker off the windshield because he wasn't paying attention.
red did, the reverse lights had a good day this time around. miss trouble doesn't go til april.

i guess to many of you i am still young...we seem to have leveled off with the problems for the time being. i still hold my breath and hope real hard when i turn the key though...

I think i'm the youngest here at 19 in a few days. I know what u mean sometimes.
Well at least one is done and out of the way. How often do they have to be inspected?
every year...minor $16 annoyance. i think i'm still legal enough to pass...the place that's most convenient to my house will probably give me heck about the bumper being shimmed, so i don't think we'll even go there!

well i'm not the youngest then
she started for me today...took 3 tries in the am and the batteries were none too happy about the cold either. i think i have two bad spots in my starter. 2 squeals then a start followed by several days of no trouble seems to be the norm now. i'm not sure how i should prioritize what she needs right now: starter, two good batteries, rear shocks, and a complete ($300) front end alignment

A good starter will wear on the batteries less and a starter on ebay runs about 95bucks.Put one on 3 weeks ago, seems good. Can't go if it won't start.... Also the longer your wait on the starter you drain your batts and work the alternator to recharge. On both my trucks when the starter went and I delayed weeks later the alt quit. Maybe coincedence IDK...
