field wire routing

I have been having alternator problems and have narrow it down to an intermittent (sp) connection problem in the field wire to the alternator. Does any one know the routing of that wire? any help would be appreciated.

I had the same problem but the wiring was intermittent right where it comes out the back of the plug on the alternator. If I lifted the wires, it would charge, when I pushed them sideways, it would quit charging. You can buy an alternator pigtail replacement kit from Ford, cut the wires, and splice in the connector and pigtail yourself. Everything is included in the kit.

thanks, I just figured that out and have one coming. I narrowed it down by finding an advertisment for a kit from ford. apparantly the weather-pak connectors go bad often.

thanks again,
Steve
