I have a 2004 2WD Ford F-150 Extended Cab w/ 4.6L V8 gas engine, auto transmission, I want to purchase a performance chip or programmer for it. What is the best chip or programmer out there for this truck. I want the absolute most horsepower gain possible with a chip or programmer. Or I have considered adding a poweradder turbo, supercharger, procharger etc... Does anyone have any suggestions on what I should consider and if you have a suggestion how much horsepower will that device add. Of course I know a poweradder will give me more horsepower but they are more expensive but I am still considering one. If I could find a chip that gives me a decent amount of noticable horsepower gain (around 40-50 hp) I will go with that, but if not I'll go the other route. Any help with this will be greatly appreciated.
For the absolute most power out of a programmer you'll need a dyno tune done, takes a day and will cost around $1K but the truck will be as perfectly tuned s possible.
Go to www.superchips.com they have a good line that almost makes sence. Let us know what you think. Its the best idea I've seen without actully buying the product.
