Yokohama Geolander M/T is what they are. I don't need anything monstrous, just want something that will do pretty good out in the mud. Was going to go with 31x10.50's probably. Don't want to go any taller because I have a 3.50 rear, and don't want to sacrifice and go with higher gearing due to taller tires. I do just have the 5.0, lol.
So, are these pretty good? They look like a decent design. I can't pay too much money so if anyone knows a comparable price/performance tire, let me know.
can't speak for the geolanders, but I put interco trxus m/ts on my truck this fall before hunting season, have had the truck in quite a bit of mud,no complaints.I have went places in 2wd that I was afraid to go in 4wd with the bfg' a/t's that were on the truck when I bought it. decent in snow also.
I got an NP435, I can spin 'em. I just want my gearing to feel the same as it has on the roads, which is why I was wanting 31x10.50's. I don't want to feel like I'm geared any higher than I already am.
Those BFG's do look better than the Yokohama for mud, btw.
I won't be swapping my tires out all the time, though. I only have one set of wheels. I was just saying, I'll have the ability to have it done, though.
Sure, I'd rather have bigger, but then I'd need to be geared lower, or upgrade the TTB D44. So, let's keep the budget simple for the poor man, lol.
Yeah, but I just want tires for now lol. I live on 90 acres of farm land. Half flat, half hills. That's mainly where I ride. Also have 300 acres on a mountain that my in laws own, but it has trails that are easy to ride on. Either way, I'm happy with being stock for what I need my truck for. I need the traction and 4x4 for work, not play, so to speak.
I do go into woods, through creeks, etc. to load up wood. I just need that extra bite around the farm. Also, while on the subject of working, the mud tires will probably need to be able to hold 1500 pounds in the truck bed here and there, which will mainly be hauled off road (field and yard).
for 31" tires, mud kings are a pretty good tire...i dont know who makes them, but my bro used to run them on his samurai, and after he lincoln locked the axles, that little rig could get through anything (in its class of course)....now its on 38.5" boggers with 500HP..(whole different class)..lol...

That could get costly unless you do it yourself, and in that case, time consuming lol.
Your best off getting another set of wheels from craigslist. Or get tires and wheels from craigslist, damn good deals out there man.
I have been very happy with my maxxis buckshot mudders. Perform very good off road, and have good wear on the street. The only issue is they are pretty loud on the road. But then again, if your worried about noise, you probably shouldn't be lookin for a mud tire. Dunlop mud rovers also worked well, but could never get them to balance.

They have done awesome in the Snow and rain here, I will purchase these before BFG M/T's again, they have good siping and clean well, I also have 3.50 gears, and going to the 33's wasn't to bad,,,,noticable, I am looking to regear to 4.10's, so I would stick with 31's for your application.
