screw it, fire it off as soon as the light goes off. i will do it if you and william will do it. haha
Ditto to that, its the only way to take out the variables. I normaly wait 5 seconds or so after the light goes off.
Lets go for a coldest start NO block heater. I started mine the other day it was -14ºF and it wasn't plugged in. I already plugged mine in for tomorrow morning so its to late, and Wednesday it might get above freezing here so that defeats the purpose because its not cold unless its below freezing.

Diesel Rod
Yea. in all honesty, when the light goes off, turn the key.
For test purposes.
I'm sure mine will start, but I just like to cycle 2 times, less cranking involved.
And travis, your in texas. You dont count. haha.
And yea. of course no block heater, its not a cold start with that. =)
This was not meant to be a challenge on who has the best cold start.
If you doctor your start, what gains in info have you learned about your truck.
My thoughts were more about the condition of your motor, injection, oil, tune, mod combos ect. There are many variables on how well they start. I have seen how even a pump change effects cold starts. Example--If you have a 17* pump you have a slight advantage over the 15* pump. A modded 17* will have a disadvantage over the 15 and 17.
Agree on the WTS lamp off then hit it.
Its how joe public would start it.
ok guys, sorry it is so dark...5:30am as i was headed to the gym. she started good imo. 22 degrees after soaking from Saturday to Tuesday morning, windchill around 12. Below freezing the whole time during soak. I started it immediately after the first GP cycle. I started it up, then tailpipe view, then back to cab for High Idle, and EBPV switch flip. Then a look out front to show no plug (it was too dark to see). Anyway, let me know what you think.
Ya mine used to start like your 2 stroke, but the past few times its been real cold she hasn't wanted to fire. I've had to cycle the plugs 2-3 times and she smokes white bad until it finally fires, probably something to do with the II's throwin more fuel at it but idk. I'll have to see if I can get up early enough next time its cold enough to play, but the way its going I could probably start it when its 30 degrees and you wouldnt know the difference. Gonna have to figure out what this problem is.
