Paint Code?
Can any of you guys tell me the paint code for the two tone blue and white that ford used on a 1977 Ford F250. The blue was a bright darkish blue and was really beautiful when the light hit it. I had an F250 and sold it needing cash when i was a teen. now i would like to paint my truck back the color that my 77 F250 used to be.

Here are the paint codes out of the Ford Truck Shop Manual for the 1978 Model Year, but should be the same for your truck.
Now the color codes Ford used will use the two-digit paint identification code system (corporate code), but will only show the single code for the rating plate (data/door plate) exterior paint color code as shown in ( ) parenthesis.
3G (S) Bright Dark Blue Metallic Reference #5094-A
3T (I) Bright Medium Blue Ref #5004-A
3U (8) Light Blue Ref #5467-A
9A (M) White Ref #1619-A
9E (C) Special White Ref #1525-A
These codes fit for all Broncos, Vans, Light and Medium Duty Trucks. Your truck would have a 2 letter code on the data plate such as, I C, for Medium Blue, White. The Body color and interior codes are different. The codes I listed are for the exterior paint codes.

S = 1973/79: Bright Dark Blue Metallic
I = 1975/78: Bright Medium Blue
B = 1973/75: Light Blue / B = 1977/79: Dark Jade (green) Metallic
M = 1973/79: Wimbledon White
B = 1973/74: Pure White
Interior color codes are not listed on the Warranty Plate.
Two digit COLOR codes for one single color (i.e. 9A) were only used on Passenger Car Warranty Plates and on 1978/79 Bronco Warranty Plates.
They do not appear on Truck/Econoline Warranty Plates, or in the truck parts catalog. 1966/79 Bronco parts are in the 1965/72 & 1973/79 Passenger Car Parts Catalogs.
The reference numbers listed above are actually the Ford basic part numbers for each color.

Thanks for the help guys. The one i was looking for is (S) the dark bright blue. I always thought that color was beautiful and i think it would look great on my 1994 Ford F150 4x4 Extended cab. to bad my truck isn't an F250 then i could say my new truck is just a younger version of the old one.

I almost hate to admit it what I'm about to say, but: My truck is the metallic (midnight) blue...whatever the S code is...and has some fading from sun oxidation and scratches. Rust Oleum makes a popular spray paint I've found at Ace and Walmart that almost perfectly matches it. I've done some touch up on it and it looks pretty good.
If you're in "cheap" mode, you could rattle can the whole thing. I've not had good success going that route in the past with a whole vehicle, but others have and it's something to consider.

touch up paint for 1977 Econoline
To the member who had good success with a Rustoleum spray to touch up Ford Blue Paint ( 3g (s) 5094A) Midnight Blue, which Rustoleum touch up color did you use??

you know if you dont have a compressor and/or 30 bucks to buy a walmart spray gun, you can always go down to your local auto body supply store and they will mix you up some factory code spray paint. or better yet look on craigslist and find a pressure pot spray system, the hell with rustoleum. Oh and I always use paintscratch.com to find paint codes
