exaust
looking for a 4in muffler that will give me the needed back pressure. dont want to spend more then about 100 dollers. name model any info would be appreciated. going on a 1983 f250 6.9l

you dont need or want ANY backpressure. If you can live with it just run strait pipes lol

i thought these motors needed mufflers if there was no turbo

no they dont. They will be LOUD, but theyll run best without em. A turbo tends to quiet things down some.

so 4in straight pipe is fine it wont screw anything up in the motor

the turbo chops up the exhaust sounds so it is very nice with a turbo but check my thread on exhaust "miles of crap exhaust" and you will see, Please remember that when i say it isnt that bad that the video is thanks to the crappy microphone on the camera. It doesnt make your ears ring or anything. It sounds like a suped up mustang or modded vette when it is at idle and man i love it!

i would think that three is plenty but if you got it or want it, USE IT!!! woohoo!

so i got nothing to worry about even with no turbo it makes me nervious because i could have swarn someboby told me these motors have to have back pressure

Diesel needs no back pressure but are loud with no muffler unless you have a turbo.
