"Fire to the coil" Do you mean that you have a signal from the TFI module, or just that you have 12v to the coil connection.
If you just checked the 12v, try pulling the SPOUT connection apart. See if it has spark then. (SPOUT is a 1 wire connection that goes from the PCM to the TFI module.) It has a connector near the TFI that you can open up.
There are several styles of connector.
If you get spark when you pull the SPOUT, it could be the PCM, or the power to it. The PCM usually gets its' power from an EEC relay. Yours is old enough that there could be problems in that area.
If that isn't it, you have to divide things up. Make sure that you're getting a trigger to the coil. If you are, see if you get spark from the coil wire to ground -- that says if the coil is any good. Maybe there are problems with your rotor.
