So me and a buddy were changing my EGR valve tonight and somehow along the line most of the little brittle vacuum lines beside the EGR to the black box got broken. I got the green and the white ones fixed with rubber hose, but i want to go ahead and change them all out. My problem is with the red ones. I see where they go on top of the motor, just not which is which. If anyone has a diagram or can explain it to me it would help alot. My truck is a 96 f250 with a 5.8. Thanks in advance
Red ones are engine vacuum source and they are the same as the engine vacuum.
They plug into the upper intake and it would not matter the nipple they are plugged on to as long as it is intake engine vacuum.
As for the diagram of the vacuum hoses I would need your Calibration number off the drivers door post to get the right one to post.
The two red vacuum lines both source from the same fitting on top the manifold. one goes to a "diaphram or valve" on the fuel rail, the other goes to the right side of the bay near the trans dipstick. It passes through a small inline valve then to a tee and from there to your heater a/c system.
Since im looking at replacing all these plastic lines with rubber I can just run them all straight to the barbs on top of the motor? no matter which barb? You said something about an inline valve, do i need to route my new hose to it? sick of these brittle things and just want to make sure I do it right. Thanks

On my 96 there are two black lines coming from the heater/ac system. They join at the tee, then there is what looks like a one way valve????? the next thing is the red line. Just provide vacuum from the man. to the small inline valve, just as the red line does.
