Electronic throttle control

My first vist here so I apologize if this has been addressed somewhere already. I have a 2005 f-150 5.4l and am wondering if the 'wrench' on the instrument panel illuminates when you first start the truck but then goes out, should i have this taken to a mechanic like the manual says or does the 'wrench' need to be illuminated at all times to be a problem? Sounds normal to me. It's the PCM self-testing to make sure everything is funtioning as it should.
