The handle broke off of the door that allows outside air into the cabin of my 1979 F100. I can't find the part at LMC or Mac's. The door is on the driver side, below the dash on the outside wall. It slides in a frame. My truck has an after-market a/c. This is just the outside air vent, it has nothing to do with the heating or a/c. Where can I find a new part or is there anyway to repair this plastic handle?
I would find one in a wrecking yard. To take it off, you have to remove the parking brake assembly. It has two nuts you access under the left front fender well and one bolt at the lower front edge of the dash. Then you have access to the six #3phillips head bolts that hold the sliding vent.

With the pressure that is applied to the handle i would think it to be a temporary fix at best.
I would check on ebay or better yet your local wrecking yard.
I see these in working order fairly often in them.
