EGT temps

what are the normal temps u guys get driving i have a 4inch downpipe and a 5 inch exhaust with a predator tune at 60 that i cant get off my cpu

You will find that your temps vary due to ambient are and sometimes fuel quality/mix. Usually you will see about 600*F-800*F crusing at 65mph. Turbo, injectors, and intake can make a difference as well.

im just wondering cause i was cruising at 70 and my temps were at 400 and as soon as i let of the pedal it would drop down to 200 i was just wondering if my gauge is going bad

It could be having issues, corrosion, or connection etc. What does it idle at?

when i stopped it tonight it went down to 200 rel quick i was punching it on the fwy and i got it up to 600 at 80

What gauges are they? What did it use to idle at?

autometers i had them for 4or 5 years i believe when i would start the truck up it idle at 200

Good question. If it's pre-turbo then you are seeing too low of readings which can be a bad gauge, bad ground, corroded wires, bad probe, etc... You should be seeing about 300 degrees at idle or when you lift off the go pedal, it should slowly return to 350 or 400 and not drop to 200.

Pre turbo, most people have it in the driver's side exhaust manifold. You want it as close to the head as possible.
