starting procedure for 93 IDI
My sons 93 f250 doesn't have the owners manual and I've never had to work on one single IDI before this one. Even with being a diesel mechanic for ford since they were new. Must be good engines!
It does have the high idle solenoid on it and I don't think it works. He broke his key off in the ignition too but it still goes through all the positions for now.
What is the proper procedure for starting these when it's real COLD?

To start when cold
1 Turn key to activate glow plugs
2 When light goes out depress the go peddle half way, this sets the high idle
3 Start it up.
The high idle solenoid will not push the throttle open, but when you depress the throttle the seloniod will hold the throttle in the fast idle position. Hope this makes sense.
