so im almost positive it is something with the c6 transmission, but whenever i get on my truck really hard, i mean like punching it (which is rarely) i get this burning smell
afterwards, it never happens during normal driving, is this an early sign of something going? thanks

 

Does it smell like oil or antifreeze? Often a worn engine will burn one or both of those when you get on it.

 

it smells like burnin oil, it sucks cause when im mudding and i spin the wheels alot i start to smell it

 

valve cover leak... when u turn a lot of rpms it will build up in the valve covers and if u have a leak it will run out on to the exhaust manifolds and burn off

 

so are you saying tightening the headbolts might help?

 

well if its the valve cover leaking u would be able to see oil and dirt build up on the engine.... u could try tightening the valve cover bolts or go get a new wet if that doesnt stop the leak....

if the rings were bad it would burn oil and smoke....

 

ok, its not an engine problem, because i can sit in neutral and rev the engine all i want, it only happens when the truck is in gear
