Has anyone successfully reconnected the EBPV linkage with the turbo already installed? If so, what magic tool did you use? I'd appreciate any help out there thanks. I want to be able to use it as my exhaust brake again but can't seem to get the linkage to stretch back over to connect with the limited space there is to work in there
Yes, and it is a pain. My magic tool is usually Nick (WeekendWarriorFSW32)
But if you don't have a gumby like teen around use a long handled pry bar or screw driver. Use it to pull the rod out of the pedestal while you use the other hand to push it onto the pin. It is definitely doable, just a PIA.
Clay is right. I hooked mine back up when I reinstalled the turbo. Huge PITA to get that bugger back on there but it can be done. I found that cussing at it helps a lot.
Where do you buy these Gumby like teen tools? My 40 something beer swilling flab tools aren't helping my 40 yo office slug body any, I should upgrade........
CLEAN IT!!! If it's good & greasy you're only making it more difficult. So, clean it as best you can first. Then, a set of big needle nose pliers (preferably channel locking type) and patience. A broad, foul vocabulary will be part of your reward.
I already have the cuss words handled after the time I've already spent on it! It is all cleaned up, so I'll give the pry bar a shot. Thanks for the quick responses!
