The only time I have a problem with someone taking 2 spots is when it is near the door. I used to take 2 pots half way through the parking lot or further, now I just take one and park even further away.
Just park way out in the lot and take your 2 spaces where the 300lbs wal-martian, mini van driving, welfare moms, are too lazy or incapable of accessing......
WOW, I think the OP was expecting a little support. I don't agree with taking multiple spots either. I typically back my vehicle into a spot so I can drive out and or, I park next to a curb so only one side is exposed to other cars.
No matter where in the parking lot you park and no matter how far away from the entrance, some Ahole will be sitting next to you when you come out of the store. Happens everytime.
If someone is taking up two spots and it isn't effecting you stay the hell away from their vehicle. You have no right to vandalize someones property. In my book your just as guilty as someone who does take up 2 spots. I take up 2 spots plenty of times, BUT I park in the boonies with no cars within 30 yards of me so its not like I'm effecting someone. Be mature about the matter.
If it wasn't effecting me I wouldn't want to key it, and I'm not talking about those that park in the boonies ... but I can see how bad my statement sounded. It was meant more like when someone really angers you and you silently wish them harm although you'd never really do it. My bad.
I agree, if you wanna take up more than one spot or if yuo need to take more than one spot, then park in an open area, so you don't incovience people in smaller vehicles. I don't park the work truck, a 4 door f250 with a 10 foot custom glass rack bed on it in the way. I just park out of the way where I can take up 2-3 spots without anyone complaining. Now when I'm in my ranger and I see someone that has taken two spots purposely in the front of a parking lot, I like to squeeze my narrow truck right next to it just close enough to where I can get in and out, but in the process give the door a nice hard swing and put a good sized dent in their side. It's a good way to teach some arrogant jerk a lesson.

You know... that falls into the category of 'overreacting.' I agree with putting your vehicle in close proximity to theirs- done that a time or two- but when you purposely dent someone's vehicle, that's crossing the line. I don't have much, but if I ever saw someone do that to my vehicle, regardless of the value of it and whether or not I was in the wrong to begin with, there'd be some pretty harsh words and a lawsuit coming that person's way.
Harsh words don't bother me, and a lawsuit if not thrown out in court for it being one persons word against another, would be what I deserve. I do use common sense and make sure no one is around to see it happen. No It's not the right thing to do in a legal sense, but sometimes it's just what some people need to put them in their place, and give them some consequences to their actions. I do my best to make sure I don't hit the car next to me when someone parks a little over the line, I've done the same. But when Someone obviously Takes 2 spaces just to have lots of extra room, they are just askin for it. As for the disabled places, if i see a car parked illegaly, I just call the police, and they get a ticket or even towed.

It happens. Except around here good looking trucks usually gravitate towards each other in the parking lot.
Example: Was at home depot a while ago and parked way out in the boonies. When I came out there was a 6.4 on one side and a Chebby behind me.
Park in the back of the lot if you want to keep your precious 2001 "cherry", you will wind up getting it vandalized if you keep taking up extra spaces.
Its become a joke with my friends and family, that I have to plan my trips and errands around the ability to find parking. (The satellite mapping available online is a great way to do this, I've found.) But, its something you just have to learn to deal with when you drive a big a** truck.
Here's my parking peeve: why don't stores like Home Depot and Lowes, where one is more likely to be driving a big truck, have larger parking spaces? I don't see too many people picking up a load of lumber or sod, etc. in a 'rice rocket'!

And why are the toilet seats in home improvement stores always loose or broken?
