Replacement Block Heater

anyone know where to get replacement block heater elements? left it plugged in last night and this morning it was not warm. Pretty sophisticated test eh?

Done that, been there. Forgot to plug the other end in!

Got an ohm meter?
Resistance should be 14-16 ohms.
Measure it at the power connector sticking out by the bumper ||

I have had some problems plugging in before as well. I would check the cord too. I had a cord with a bad end and the neutral wasn't there. I carry a potentiometer w/me and always check for power but it doesn't check the neutral. Took a little to find it. Also (as you may well know) make sure you have enough coolant in your truck.

No joke about the price difference. A buddy went to change one recently dealer wanted $50 for the heater and $90 for the cord. they say its based on the varying lengths of the cords for different models but the heaters themselves are the same. IH Ibeleive the heater was $35 Seen some on ebay for about the same.
