ok guys, i don't mean to be flooding the forum with posts now, but i have another question, and i searched again before asking, but no results. The previous owner of the new truck had a son. THe son got a bright idea. He polished the black off of the passenger side F250 and powerstroke emblem, and the tailgate emblem. However, he got lazy and never did the drivers side. Now, the jury is still out on whether or not I like the look of them polished, but i know i hate having them not match. So, how do you polish all that black off without messing up the chrome?

Pretty sure it's a fast acting solvent and elbow grease. (brake cleaner, etc.) Found out that the emblem starts life "chromed" for lack of a better term, then gets the black treatment when mine just started flaking off. Bought 05' emblems... problem solved.
Tape around the emblems a good 8-12" with masking tape. Using acetone and some shop towels, I got mine nice & clean. Use a toothbrush CAREFULLY for the tight nooks & crannies. I really like 'em -- just don't let ANY of the splash get on your paint! Here's what mine look like:
i have 05-07 emblems with the black painted the blue of my truck, then cleared to prevent flakin, haven't seen them in person but i think it'll look cool
I like the look of the chromed out badges but not sure how it would look on my red truck. I was thinking about going to all International badges. I found the T-444E badges like our PSD ones on the door but forgot to save the link lol.
