I meant to say to watch the capacity of any fuses or circuit breakers you may have, also the contact rating of your relay.

Diodes block current in one diretion but not in the other. Wiring in this fashion allows the temp switch to turn on the relay, and the AC compressor to turn on the relay, but prevents the temp switch from turning on the AC compressor.
You could also do this with SPDT relays instead of SPST (normal automotive relays) relays.
