Rust
I have some rusty places on my highboy. I have read in past post that some of you have used products that turn rust into a primer or something like it. I could use the names of some products to use. Also, Can someone tell me how the drip rails are fastened to the cab. I am not a body man and could use the help in whether to get a body shop to fix my problem or if it could indeed be a do-it-myself kind of job. Thanks.

David, I have used two different products, one was called EXTEND, purchased at Ace Hardware, the other was purchased at AUTOZONE but I cant remember the name of it. I just asked the salesperson for something to kill the rust. Both products worked quite well. They both turned a purple or black when cured and both stopped the rust.

It depends where the rust is. There are some good rust paints that will seal the surface rust permanently, like POR15 or Miracle Paint. If this rusted area will show, then this paint can be primed before it sets completely. Tell me where the rust is and I'll tell you how to fix it.

The rust is located between the drip rail and the cab. There are two small holes. One is the size of a nickel and the other is the size of a #2 pencil. Thank you for any and all help you can give.
