Holly 2 bbl.
The 77, 1/2 ton truck I purchesed 2 monthes has ago has a 429 in it, and it has a holly 2 barrel. I recently rebuild the carb, counted 4 turns out on the air/fuel mixture screws. I put the carb back on the truck, and went about adjusting the carb with a vacuum gauge. I have the mixture screws in all the way and that seems to be the only way it will idle decent.If I take them out a turn or ever a half a turn it hesitates on the low end side. And before it was running half way decent but know it just hesitates really bad. My timming is set at 10 BTDC. It seems to only be hesitating on slow acceleration, and idles real rough.

Sounds like you could have a vacuum leak. Check all the vaccuum hoses and check to ensure the carb isnt leaking at the manifold gasket or gaskets if you have a carb spacer. Also check to make sure the carb hold-down bolts are tight and the carb is sitting flat on the manifold.
