Do you have an early or late 99? The reason I ask is because I have an early 99, and Jody burned me the late 99 tunes by accident.
It ran great, but the idle was way off.
He's reflashing it for me now.
Im just throwing that out there in case thats what happened to you???
Interesting, learn something every day. Besides the possible early-late burn like mentioned above, everything sounds about right, turbo surge, difference in sound in the different tunes, idle in the different tunes, exct. If the touchy pedal bothers you, it doesn't for me, you can get it tuned down a bit..
I'm willing to bet the shifts are just hard when you're really getting on it? If so it's probably your clutch slipping and then banging into gear as I understand it.
I had the same issue. I got a JWVB and it cured that for the most part.
Mine shift hard into third if I give it throttle or have a little load behind it.Also sifts into third/locked at 18 mph.shifts fine stock
Mine is probly comming out and going on shelf and maybe try another chip or just a shift kit or VB and run stock
GOOD NEWS!! it was burnt for a late 99 and i have a early.. just as started above!! so hopefully it should be smoother..
thanks guys
Great to hear, Im glad I chimed in...
I should have my DP back tomorrow. Jody isn't far from us, should only take a few days.
Just for *****s and giggles I downloaded the Superchips "performance" tune onto my truck while the Dp was in the mail. (because stock is......well.... boring)
All I can say is ......I got more response from the truck in the DP 80 econ tune.
Superchips should be embarrassed to sell that programmer.
i would like my engine to be louder i dont mind that... but even in stock it kinda changes the idle also.. im gonna talk to them on monday
Please dont build your truck to make it louder at idle... That is timing, which will send your rods out the block... Quite is what you want. Should not change the idle from stock to chipped.
