tires?

I am in the process of getting my new ball joints installed and now its time for some new tires, I have searched tires on this forum but it seems as if I can only find posts where people have gone to 285's,305's or grapplers . I am looking just the normal 265/75/16 in a E rating (white letter). Comments and suggestions please

I am running the BFG rugged trail 265/75/16 Load E tires and these things wear like iron! I have 50K or so on them and easily have over half of the tread left. I also run these tires on my company truck with these same great results. I would stick to the BFG's that came on these trucks from the factory!! I have rotated my tires 1 time in 50K too, which I know isn't enough, but it doesn't appear to have affected these tires!

DO NOT BUY bridgestone allenzas duelers, I had some and they lasted 23000 miles with rotation and alignment. They're junk and they do not have a warranty. Good Luck

I really love my Yokohama Geolandar A/T-S's. I have been amazed at their performance. If I were to buy another set of factory size tires, thats what I would get.

I have 285-75-16 Toyo Open Country AT's and love them. I only run them in the winter with the plow on, so I don't know longevity yet. (I run Mickey Thompson Baja Belteds in the summer.) They plow great! D rated, but more weight rating 3100 than the old E rated Firestone Steeltex which got 92,000 miles. Yes they actually got 92,000. Guess we know why they aren't made any more.

I recommend the Mastercraft HTR 265/75/16 in a E's I've just placed on my X 1000miles ago. They replaced Faulkens, and they blow them away with their quiteness and ride. This would be the first time I've used Mastercrafts on my X, but have been running them on my other vehicle for years... no complaints!

I'm running Nitto Terra Grapplers, 265/75s, and they run great. Lost about 1 MPG over the junk BFGs the dealer put on. My other favorite is BFG AllTerrains. They'll take anything you can throw at them ... they just didn't have 4 on hand when I needed tires! Another thought is that my speedometer runs about 5% high, so I should have gone to a 5% bigger tire so I know when I'm speeding LOL. Cheers!

I just ordered Firestone Transforce AT's in the stock size for my '00 X. Went to tirerack.com and entered the X's size and read the reviews of various brands from other folks that bought them. The Transforce tires are rated good (not the best) but I plan on getting them at my local Tires Plus because they stock them (and I have a Tires Plus credit card).
I'm currently running Michelins and I believe they're only C range as far as the loading goes. The new Transforce tires are E range (much better suited to trailering my 6000# T.T.). I'm interested in seeing the difference in ride, road noise, mileage.

I went to Dunlop Rover 315s, but from a 305 All-Terrain BFG.

So far, I love them. I'm not much of an off-roader, but since have aired them down to 17lbs and ran them in the sand, where they floated nicely. I probably could have went down to 10 or less, damn E-rated tires are so firm they didn't even look too low at 17lbs.

I've only had them a short time, but so far love'em.
... and I think they have e-rated in 305s.

I have Michelin LTX M/S Load Range 'E' tires on my Ex right now. I had them on my 1999 F250 for about 30,000 miles, just swapped them onto the ex when I sold the truck, and they still look new. I got hooked on these tires when my previous employer used these on his Chevy Express 3500 Vans that hauled around about 2,000 lbs all the time and occasionally added another ton. He used to get 50,000+ miles out of these tires. They are an expensive purchase, but the tread looks like a highway tire, but is actually quite good in Mud and Snow. It has factory siping (?Spelling). The sipes help keep the tire cool and they do wonders in snow and rain.

LTX® M/S: Light Truck Tires: MICHELIN® Automotive Tires: Michelin Tires

Well worth the money in my opinion.

Michelins would be nice but I am on a budget due to having my balljoints replaced and having some other things that need to be done like adding powerslots.I like the Transforce but I really like the white letter. Thanks for all the input......

I replaced my Goodyear Silent Armor with a set of Hankook Dynapro ATM about a month ago. Great in the rain, and pretty good in the snow too (Tahoe over X-mas and local snowboard place yesterday). Dry traction is pretty good and noise is as good as my silent armors. No wandering, I'm happy with my $780 purchase considering 70 of it was warranties. Oh, they look pretty killer too.

I am not sure what MTX's are. I can only find the LTX which is what I have. They are expensive, but I think that you get what you pay for.
