Ford brakes
I am putting a 460 in my 79 Bronco to make it go, my other concern is getting it stopped! I have had it for a year and it has never stopped very well. The pads and shoes are all in good shape.
I have been told that Fords truck all have poor brakes. ???? This is my first Ford "truck".
Any one has any suggestions?

Ford brakes
When I was switching the body on my 79 F150 4x4 to a 62 F100 body, I decided to rebuild the brakes while I had the body off. The rear drums had been done shortly before. I replaced all of the brake lines, including the rubber-to-steel ones. Then I put on new calipers and pads on the front, plus a new (rebuilt) master cylinder. When the truck was finished, I found the new brakes to be better than they have ever been. As good as the ones on my 95 F350! Shortly after, the power booster took a dive. After a lengthy search at the bone yards,(mine is a freak of nature, no rocker linkage) I found one that would work. Now my truck can stop a train! I have to warn people who drive it to be carefull not to put themself through the windshield! I doubt there is a new car or truck with better brakes than my hybrid 79-62. So these trucks can have good brakes, you just have to have the right parts.
