The Firebird has a 350 Chevy engine (which I hope to replace with a Pontiac 455 some day), a Turbo 400 trans (was gonna go with a 4 speed, but do not want to cut it up any more), and a spooled 9 inch with 4.56's.
I was thinking I may actually be different and build up a Sprint option engine (OHC 250, 4bbl carb and such).
Oh yeah, I also got the E-fan in yesterday. I have not really tested it out driving too far. I am still dialing it in, but I should have a write up soon.

The car? It was in 14.5 with 2.56 rear and way out of tune. I have not run it since then (no time to make it up to the strip).
The OHC 250 was the base engines on the 1967, 68, and 69 Firebirds and some other Pontiacs. It was a straight six with an overhead cam. Mine came with one. Pretty good engine, but Pontiac offered from the factory the Sprint option which gave the engine higher compression, a 4 barrel carb, different exhaust, and I think the cam was different, I ado not know the cam specs. They are pretty hard to come by.
As for the fan, I am going to go back and hook up both speeds.
I am not even sure of the HP. Ball park is 350 to 400, but I never dynoed it.
The Sprint was not as fast as the 350 option I think, but I am now at the point that speed does not impress me all that much (although it is real nice to have).
