ive never seen one of those logger box things. where would i get one? and for how much?
I think mine was built by a local logging company, but you can buy similar ones at http//www.rebcotruckboxes.com. There are probably places closer to you that can build one, or you can make your own, Here's a couple more picks to tempt you. dhobdey1, I like the dump option, too!
Smoores250 where are you located? I know of an 8' bed. A friend of mine put a 2000 superduty bed on his 73 4x4. Looked pretty good - no trim and all one color.
theres a guy on old kings road that did that. the road goes from catskill to saugerties. i wonder if its the same guy
here is one i recently purchased. my plan was to find a slide on camper to put on it...but...in my price range i can't find anything that is not junk...so i am thinking about building side rails with canopy bows on top and fitting a custom made tarp cover...kinda like a military truck.
mine was also converted to a dually with bolt on adapters...i am looking for oem steel rims to put it back to single wheel and will sell the adapters and dually rims.
i also plan to mount storage boxes in the "naked" areas under the bed. no tire clearance issues on the back but i am wondering how big of a tire i can go with on the front.
to determine if your truck can pull off a flatbed, is determind by how it will look in the end. if your plans make your truck look BA then you can pull it off. mean lookin trucks have no problem pullin off the flatbed style. i have only dreamed of havin a bed for my 77 250, but im just finishin building my truck (dont have any pics yet) but i have a diamond plate flat bed painted black to go with the scheme of my truck (metallic green and black). but i guess, its all just in the eye of the beholder lol
"poison oil" i sure will share some pics. too bad i need to make this truck into something i can live out of part time, it is a great candidate for a nice project.
and...putting slide in campers on flatbeds does work. you can google up some info on it. there are a few companies that have actually started making new campers just for flatbeds. the benifit is much more storage on the sides.
