I have a 2005 fx4 73k miles, and yesterday it started running really rough. Its spitting and sputtering. It starts really hard, almost need to give it a little gas to get it going. Just wondering what you all think is wrong with it. My fluids are all good. Gauges are all showing good. Plugs aren't fouled up or anything. Thought maybe at first that I had gotten some bad gas, but I put some new gas in and still having the same problem. Any input is greatly appreciated.

 

Forgot to mention the check engine light is on. Bad oxygen sensor? Clogged fuel injector? Bad fuel filter? This thing is driving me nuts, I hate it when things aren't working right.

 

could be one or a number of your coil packs are going out.

 

If the CEL is on, we need the codes to be any real help. Go to any autozone or oreilly's and they'll pull them for ya...once you've got them report back. Good luck.
