Barrett Jackson

This passed January Barrett Jackson's auctioned off a (IMHO) ok 51 F-1 for over 70 grand. I checked the line up for this next months up-coming auction and there are about 100 trucks. About 40% are Ford, 55% GM. Should be very interesting to see the quality of the truck so we can compare and how the value of our trucks may be effected. A side note, and to see how the big rollers like our stuff.

I was there last year and plan on going again this year; only to look.

It's hard to tell a high-roller from a low-rider; ‬you can't judge a person's ‬bank account or the proclivity to spend over ‬$100K on a relic of yesteryear by their looks. <link rel="File-List" href="file:///C:%5CUsers%5CDave%5CAppData%5CLocal%5CTemp%5Cmsoht ml1%5C01%5Cclip_filelist.xml"><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:WordDocument> <w:View>Print</w:View> <w:Zoom>0</w:Zoom> <w:PunctuationKerning/> <w:ValidateAgainstSchemas/> <w:SaveIfXMLInvalid>false</w:SaveIfXMLInvalid> <w:IgnoreMixedContent>false</w:IgnoreMixedContent> <w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText>false</w:AlwaysShowPlaceholderText> <w:Compatibility> <w:BreakWrappedTables/> <w:SnapToGridInCell/> <w:WrapTextWithPunct/> <w:UseAsianBreakRules/> <wontGrowAutofit/> </w:Compatibility> <w:BrowserLevel>MicrosoftInternetExplorer4</w:BrowserLevel> </w:WordDocument> </xml><![endif]--><!--[if gte mso 9]><xml> <w:LatentStyles DefLockedState="false" LatentStyleCount="156"> </w:LatentStyles> </xml><![endif]--><style> <!-- /* Font Definitions */ @font-face {font-family:"Comic Sans MS"; panose-1:3 15 7 2 3 3 2 2 2 4; mso-font-charset:0; mso-generic-font-family:script; mso-font-pitch:variable; mso-font-signature:647 0 0 0 159 0;} /* Style Definitions */ p.MsoNormal, li.MsoNormal, div.MsoNormal {mso-style-parent:""; margin:0in; margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:12.0pt; font-family:"Comic Sans MS"; mso-fareast-font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-bidi-font-family:"Times New Roman";} /* Page Definitions */ @page {mso-endnote-numbering-style:arabic;} @page Section1 {size:8.5in 11.0in; margin:1.0in 1.25in 1.0in 1.25in; mso-header-margin:.5in; mso-footer-margin:.5in; mso-paper-source:0;} div.Section1 {page:Section1;} --> </style><!--[if gte mso 10]> <style> /* Style Definitions */ table.MsoNormalTable {mso-style-name:"Table Normal"; mso-tstyle-rowband-size:0; mso-tstyle-colband-size:0; mso-style-noshow:yes; mso-style-parent:""; mso-padding-alt:0in 5.4pt 0in 5.4pt; mso-para-margin:0in; mso-para-margin-bottom:.0001pt; mso-pagination:widow-orphan; font-size:10.0pt; font-family:"Times New Roman"; mso-ansi-language:#0400; mso-fareast-language:#0400; mso-bidi-language:#0400;} </style> <![endif]-->However, most vehicles in that price range bring with them some very special qualities.

What I do find fascinating is the craftsmanship and ingenuity that's on display. How they do it is beyond me; another feat of human intellect. You can use a jeweler's loupe and not find a flaw in most of these finishes.

I can't believe the money people are selling at that place. I need to go out there and find me one of those guys!

"Hi Sugar Daddy!"

But then again I've been watching the prices of nicely restored Bonus Built and Effies here in SoCal for th epast year and even though they are not sold as ofter, the quality trucks are going in the upper $20K to mid $30K.

I watched this on SPEED for a bit tonight before I left for work. I was flabbergasted by the fees that those guys charge. There's a $500 fee just to bid plus the buyer pays a 10% commission and the seller pays an 8% commission. The fees are higher for online buyers. That's just crazy!

I'm sure the people buying vehicles there would refer to it as "chump change".
