Thats a bit of info I did not know.. thanks for the heads up. Anyways I got alittle curious back in November and decided to make a few calls and ended up getting an email sent through regarding the rebirth of the Ex. Actually got a response (quite surprised) as I figured it would say nothing regarding its rebirth.
Anyways onto the message I received...

Maybe someone could post the production numbers of the Excursion by year, then everyone can see why it is gone. I was disappointed the X was being discontinued in 2005, but even with many X owners selling theirs to buy the last of the X's in 2005, sales and production numbers were minuscule for 2005 due to lack of demand. .
For me, there is nothing else like it out there. Guess I have to wait and see if Chevy tosses a Diesel in their 3/4ton 4x4 Sub. If they do, I will consider jumping ship to Chevy.
I wish Ford would bring back the Excursion. I would love to petition to bring it back. I would love to have a new 4x4 XLT Diesel. I looked at a number of X’s and 250/350’s before my current truck. Don’t get me wrong I love my current truck, but started thinking about what there is out there to replace the X.
-Chevy has the Suburban, but it does not come in a 3/4 ton frame or diesel -Dodge has the MegaCab 2500 Diesel. I had a 2500 MC 4x4 gasser, it had a cap which made it similiar to an X. The gasser got around 10Cty/15Hwy -Ford still has the Expedition, but it based on a 1/2ton frame and no diesel.
Im thinking about buying a 2010 Ex from this guy in Oklahoma, called Custom Autos By Tim dot com. If that doesn't work ill gut my 05 Ex out and rebuild it with parts from the 09-10 Expedition and 09-10 Super Duty. If Ford wont make us a new Excursion screw them, ill make my own with the special features that i want in it; like rear heated seats, rear reclineing seats with more leg room in the middle row, single bucket seats in the third row with headrests, built in gun safe, and find another place for the spare tire, also with a better roof cargo rack.
That is exactly what I was looking for.. Many thanks. Should the time arrive I really "need" to replace the Ex that is a serious option! It might be interesting to finance a new F250/F350 then do another loan for the 30k for the conversion. Not much of an issue..
