Question A/C line help

I'm trying to figure out how to disconnect the a/c line that goes from the condensor in front directly to the heater core area. I know where it disconnects at the condensor, however, I think it also has some sort of quick connect or something similar near the drier and heater core.

Does anybody have any pics of this junction I'm thinking of? And what kind of tool is used to disconnect? If I recall there's kinda mushroom spot and that's where it comes apart.

Unfortunately I didn't get a good look at it before I sold my SD, so now I'm trying to find pics of it to help a friend out.

Thanks!!

It's just like those quick-disconnect fuel lines. And there is a clamp over it to make sure it doesn't come apart by itself.

That's what I am thinking. Would it be the same size as a fuel line quick disconnect? I've only got my obs to look at and am thinking the SD is a larger one.

No, it's bigger, IIRC. I bought a kit that had about 8 sizes from AutoZoo. They're plastic, but I haven't needed a different one yet...

I got this tool at Napa. Metal and 4 sizes.

You need to put the tool around the line and press it into the cage to
release the tension of the garter spring and then pull the line out.

Robin that is 100% exactly what I think I needed! Thanks!!!

My fuel line quick disconnect only has 2 sizes 5/16" and 3/8" so I'll need to go get another one.

Actually only four. Flip it around each way and only 2 sizes each way. They're labeled A, B, C, D.

Oh -- I thought those were three separate tools, not the same one in different positions. LOL!

Well, I wasn't to clear on that was I?

I'm still wondering why they are labeled with letters and not sizes.

I'm sure the packaging I threw away had the sizes on it. I had to measure them before posting the sizes.
And then it dawned on me they were in 1/8" increments. DUH!
