JB Weld Repair

I had a leak at the top of the radiator on my Camry. It was a crack in the plastic. I drilled the ends of the crack, sanded it and put some JB Weld over it . I figured I'd give it a try before I bought a new radiator. Well its been 2 weeks and its held up nicely. I'll just keep riding it out and see how long it lasts.

Amazing stuff, JB Weld. That Mighty Putty that Billy Mayes sold isn't too bad in a pinch either!! Used it to repair a fuel tank leak on our Peterbuilt in Alaska. Lasted several years before it started weeping!!

I have had some success with JB, not as much on the plastic tanks. I also tend to use a hair dryer to warm the JB and make it flow a bit before it sets, sinks into the repair a bit. Your holes may have been the secret to success for this fix.

JB weld is great!...............Just don't use it on exhaust manifold cracks, fails miserably there. Don't ask me how I know.

i have used JB weld on aluminum intakes. put on extra, and after it sets, use a dremil tool to smooth the area. you can not even tell it has been repaired.

I used JB Weld to bolt up an oil pan once... 2 of the holes on the engine were badly mangled and the pan leaked on that end because it couldn't be bolted up so, I cleaned the holes out as best I could with brake cleaner then I took a pair of bolts and glued them into the holes using JB Weld (I used a wood block and a jack to put pressure on the bolts until the JB set up) - after the JB was good and hard, I cut the heads off the bolts with a dremel; put the pan back on; and used nuts on the bolts/studs to tighten that end of the pan down - worked great - I was actually surprised it worked so well lol...

Yesterday my repair gave out. The patch job cracked on me. It lasted about 2 weeks. Maybe it was the constant temp change. Oh well no hard feelings here. I gave it a shot and I got a couple of weeks out of it. I ordered a radiator from rockauto.com it should be here tomorrow according to the order tracking #. BTW it was about 1/2 the price as autozone. Same brand, Spectra Premium. Go figure.

I used JB to hold down the metering rod cover on an Edelbrock I had on an 85 F250 460 I had. I didn't think it would work but it was still working when I sold the truck a year later. My fence gate has some JB holding the decorative piece on top in place and also holding part of the hinge in place. Not sure who did the repair but it works.

The plastic ventilation control pieces that operate the cables on older vintage Ford trucks such as mine broke about three years ago. These items are hard to find nowadays so I was abole to effect my repairs with JB weld and it's held up very nicely. I use tis stuff on anything and everything.
