F250 Spring Width
I was looking at a 78 F250 4x4 to buy to play with, and I noticed the springs are narrower than the ones on my 89 4x4. They looked like they were 2 1/2" compared to the 3" on mine. Is this the way they came? I know the newer 4x2's have 2 1/2" springs, and I know Chevy's have 2 1/2". I am just wondering if the truck is a hodge-podge of parts, becuase then I obviously don't want it. Thanks

Prior to finding a box for rig. I ponder switching to dual wheels and having a flat bed. What I found was that a one ton truck with dual rear wheels has a more narrow spring (2 1/2") than the 3/4 ton (3"). This may answer your question.
