got a 99 f150 4.2 that wont hold any fuel pressure. pulled return line off and got pressure there when i hit the key so i figured its the regulator, now how do i go about changin the regulator
thanks
I have never had to mess with one so I can't speak from experience.
I think the regulator is attached to the fuel rail with 2 head head (Allen) screws.
Did you get those out?
After that I think it is just pressed in with an o-ring around the regulator to prevent leaks.
Other than that, I don't have much to offer.
Maybe a Haynes or Chiltons manual would give more info.
i have a picture of the regulator and it points to the retaining clip and says remove but i thought it meant remove the bracket so the only thing holding it in is a retaining clip. has anyone removed the retaining clip without removing the whole intake

Nope I just changed mine yesterday after trying for 4 hours with the intake manifold on, I said screw it and pulled the manifold off and replaced he regulator all within an hour...Just take the extra time and pull the manifold cause its VERY simple to do
