I had one of the guys write me a note and ask if his post bothered me. I appreciate the consideration and I went back and read it. Actually I thought it was kind of funny. It probably bothered Earl more than it did me.

But that's not the point.

The thread slipped back on the list so far I had to use our glorious "Search" function to find it. And you know what?

The search function actually found it! No, YES IT'S TRUE!

The secret is out: In order for the search function to work, you have to be looking for a thread that needs to be ignored.

Maybe that was the test Earl was trying and just fooled us all with fungaloid elephants!

Nex time I have something to sell, I'm going to skip the marketplace, and post a thread that says "please ignore this thread", and then post a link that says "don't click this"

Dang it! Stop it!

I know, I'll give this thread my wife's name and imagine she's talking to me about her lastest conversation with her mother , I'm sure to ignor it then.

OK, those are valid comments. I was running my HTML debuggers on the FTE web site traffic to find out exactly what was causing the problems posted in the "Why do they keep messing with this site?" thread.

I was hoping this thread would go away so I could start another test thread with a more ... uninviting title? I could then collect a final few data sets and send a summary to the FTE webmaster. Although it is totally off-topic, I was even going to post on this forum (with Morris' permission) a summary of what I found in the HTML stream.

I've seen posts on this thread from folks who indicated they are having trouble logging on, etc. I take their problems seriously, but people seem to be genuinely having fun with the thread. I'm not quite sure what to do now - ask Morris to stop the fun by closing this thread, or let it go on to its natural death.

I honestly had no intention of pulling posts with the thread title. I have to admit, though, that I've seen some truly creative and funny as hell replies. I shouldn't have expected less from this crowd. I don't know what's been going on here during the last 6 or 7 years, but it looks just like old times to me.

https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/53940-my-name-is-earl-help-me.html

I think I'm just gonna sit back and enjoy the thread ride as long as it lasts.

Looks like we're all riding the elephant into the new year. Pencils in hand like jousts, ready to pierce any test that comes along in the coming year, lol.

Clo---CLOSE THE THREAD!

Oh Earl youcan't do that! Then all "de buggers" who post here will have to go through the frustration of not being able to ignore it at all.

And if you went out and took care of those elephants feet we wouldn't have to worry about their natural death!

And look at it this way, all this silliness is probably distracting the energy from the Why do they..." thread!

You ought to know by now that where ever there are elephants, there are clowns (and I hear they have custard pies!)!

Who shall say the thread is dead, dont cut off its head and put this to bed. I say,... LET IT LIVE ON!!. For this sheer non-sense has proven itself to be the very fabric of this forum,.... weaving together Darksiders and Stock-jocks, Bucktooth and Braces type grille antagonist, Northerner, Southerners Easterner, Westerners, Up-overs and Down-unders, Panties and Boxers, and last but not least,...NITS and WITS in the common pursuit of happyness and Fat Fendered Fun. ( let me get another hit off that thing) LONG LIVE THE TEST THREAD.
And thats all I have to say about that. Happy New Year my friends

Include me out on the ignoring phase of the thread test. Did the thread pass the test?

When did they switch from cookies to custard pie?

Oh yeah, Happy New Year!!!

George,

I think I'll ignore the bit about stopping the thread...

I haven't had this much fun ignoring something in ages
