I know it has been somewhat covered. I picked up the 1.5k ohm resistor from radio shack. Just need to make sure that all I need to do is "butt connect" it inline with the remote wire. Pulling the dash tomorrow to install a bluetooth module from Santa and want to fix this while I'm in there. Also - I suck at soldering so will be using the crimp on connectors. Thanks in advance, Mike.
Just to be clear, we are talking about when you turn the unit on, there is a loud pop? I think I have the same issue. I just swapped out the Audiophile six disk changer stock HU with a JVC unit and everything works okay but there is a loud pop when I first turn the unit on. You are all saying that adding a resister inline with the amp turn on wire (blue with white stripe) will cure that?
that is correct. I will tell you that when I pull my HU out again to put the camera in - I will probably try to put another resistor inline. I put one in and the pop is much softer now, but I will probably try putting one more in. Good luck, Mike.
