Looking good, Arlene. I'm sure it sounds even better.
It DID!!! OMG, I swear, I'm gonna have soooo much fun with it. And the cool thing with the Bluetooth... when the phone rings - I'll actually know it because it will alert me. Rather than missing calls because the radio was too loud.
Start by visiting the Crutchfield site... figure out what fits in your Explorer and we'll go from there! I do love my trucks. And am very lucky to be able to have what I do.
I'll have to do that, and see what of all this my budget would allow for at the moment. I'm always game for quality sound in my trucks...just because they are trucks doesn't mean they can't have it.

I think mine will do that too I have to check into it, how does it work? Does the stereo act as the bluetooth?

Well, once you do the intial "connection" stuff to activate, yes, the phone doesn't actually ring, but the stereo beeps and switches to 'phone' mode (music goes away) and the monitor screen alerts you. Then, depending on how you set it up - it either answers automatically and you start talking, or you can use the touch screen to answer or ignore the call.

They'll help you pick & choose, depending on budget. I knew this was a one time thing, so I went all out with all new speakers, etc. But, you can do what works for you. Just the head unit would be an option if you're ok with speakers, & whatnot.

I probably wouldn't go to quite the extremes you have with your project for this truck, but I am probably going to upgrade speakers and the head unit and probably throw a changer on board. Almost all my music is on CD now, and it leaves me stuck with the radio as I have a tape deck in the truck. I could get a portable CD player and the car kit and all, but geesh, might as well do the right upgrade than band-aid it. Off to Crutchfield I go!
