It's so big, it actually replaces the center section of the front seat... who would have thunk it?? I honestly know very little about this kinda stuff. Thank goodness I married a sound system guru!

Hey, Brian (or anybody else who has any ideas) - would you happen to know which wire is the speed sensor wire? That's the only thing (so far) he's not been able to figure out...

No I don't Arlene, I wanted to figure out how they did that and the steering wheel controls, neither show on a radio harness diagram that I've ever seen...

That does not look too bad there Arlene. Just think, it will be worth it in the end.

That's what I keep telling myself... They're out there tonight, working again. The back seatbelt was held in with a different type of bolt, so needed a different thing to get it out, to get the carpet out, so they can do the dynamat. Whew... just be glad when it's over & I can enjoy the new toys!

I do believe it's a gray/black stripe wire. Is this to control the nav with in motion?

If so, I grounded mine so nav can be changed while in motion. Let me look up my install info for the Eclipse unit I installed.

I found it in the passenger side kick panel.

Try this while I locate my info,,, https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/5...locations.html

Thanks for the help, George! I've searched, and it's all Greek to me! He seems to think that's a good place to look for it.

The VSS wire is grey with a black stripe in the 05-07 trucks.

The VSS wire should be in the head unit's harness on 05+ trucks. I used the one in the passenger side kick panel.

today's update: 'tear down' is done. (Thank God!) Dynamat is in. Now, he reminds me that they still have to CUT the rear door panels for the tweeters. Long deep breath... I'll be fine
