If I remember I looked at the plugs and they seemed fine. I will pull them off again later and check them out. If you can find those pics that will be great
Pink one is the new one, the blue one was what the 'bad' one looked like. If ya look carefully, maybe you can see where the plastic is melted around the big pin. It was failing to make good contact to the GPCM...
My wifes excursion threw a cel today and after checking it discovered that I had the #2,4,6, and 8 glow plug trouble codes, with the glow plug control module also.
Any ideas? I see the control module is split for each head, i guess one of the connectors to the 2,4,6, and 8 cylinder could be bad and the other good?

Clear the codes and swap the connectors. If you still get the codes for 2,4,6,8 then you need a new GPCM.
9 times out of 10 if the codes are for all one bank it is a GPCM fault.
Replaced my GPCM last weekend and the truck started up like a champ in the cold on the first turn of the key. Had to disconnect the Cold Air Intake to get to the 10 mm nut on the other side.
Bought mine from partsguyed.com. It was cheap and came fast.
I was looking for a pic of the failed pigtails - none in my photobucket... I'll dig one out tomorow and take one.
Basically, the plastic around the big pins was melted and pins no longer made good contact. It was easy to see the problem when I looked at it. REALLY made me want a simple freakin' GPR. LOL!
I prefer the module. When 1 Glowplug goes out it tells you Hey replace #3 dummy. Then I have to only pull off one cover and test 1 GP and pull and check it rather then all 8.

Yes but as I said above it makes knowing what GP is out and changing faster.
