windshield wiper motor replacement
Hey, I have a 79 f-250 and tonight on the way home had the wipers on and pushed the **** in to activate the windshield wiper fluid and my wipers locked up and would not move. I turned them off and on and tried to get it to work and couldn't. When I got home I turned the truck off and turned the key to accesory and could hear what sounded like the motor trying to turn on. The thing is, I can have just the key on and the wiper turned off and still hear the noise. Did my motor just short out, or is it in the wiring? One last thing, I can see my voltmeter drop and go back to normal and drop again.Thanks for the input.

Sounds like something siezed in the gear drive. The wipers are trying to return to the parked position but can't because something is jammed. That's why you hear the motor trying to run even with the switch in the off position.
