I did forget to mention it is a company truck and they got it cut back. trust me if it was mine she would be wide open!...the mere thought of that is alittle scary tho...lol.
Dad has an 08 dodge with the 6.7 and the 6 speed auto in a 4.10 geared 3500 dually. Its a strong runner. It whips heck out of a stock 7.3 based on my 2000 f350... but the DP F6 with the 80 econo evens it out. I don't think it has quite the low end throttle response of a dp tuned 7.3, but once its rolling that thing will outperform the 7.3, probably due to gearing to keep in the powerband. Dad has has some intermittent check engine lights....took some reporgramming but no major issues in almost 20k miles. The cummins common rails are pretty legendary on power development, ask Jharvey. The legend of the 6.7 version is still being built.....we'll all know in 7 years if its good or bad.
and a confession is my first diesel performance mods were a 93 dodge 12v installing a banks power pack. Really livened the truck up, soon after we tore the transmission case in half.....
Hi all - I've been lurking in the background for a while now with a post now and then - I don't have a PSD yet, but I will soon (I hope...), and have been reading and learning all I can so when I finally manage to escape my Silverado into a real truck I know what the heck is going on.
I just saw a commercial for the 2010 Ram with the "Legendary" 6.7L Cummins, and had to laugh...can it really be legendary if it hasn't even been around 3 years? Seems like a better description would be "pale in comparison..." to the actually "Legendary" 5.9...

I had a similar problem,My truck is a 96 f-150,ex cab,2wd 300six swb it had a E40D,and was rather mundane,as a daily driver,I wanted more,so I installed a T-18 4 spd., and it turned my ride into a real truck,it has ***** now,and it will pull like a decent truck should,If your truck already has a big diesel in it,as compared to my 300 six your already in the power,Ill have to build a six with all aftermarket parts to get a little more power.Try a manual tranny, with a powertrax locker, thats my next install.
I just seen a new "RAM" at the truckstop in SLC...with a sticker price of $51,000!!! No thank you! I couldnt fathom what kind of payment that would be amonth...I must say I have not priced out a new SD lately but thats alot of money to be asking any type of automobile IMO!!!
$$-51 to 68,000$$ large for a new truck is approaching tractor trailer rigg prices,at the usual 10% of overall price,a normal payment for one of these trucks would be 5100$ to 6800$ per month,I just cant see it,use to,if you shucked off that kind of coin for a ride, you were buying a Lamborghini,or top of the line Porsch,or another manor of super exotic un-obtainable type of collector car,now were talking about a pick-up truck, whats the country coming to.???
well dodge has to brag about something.... the fact is there talking about cummins being legendary. they figure when someone hears "cummins" anything they make should be a legend. they've been doin it ever since the 12v 5.9 which imo is what built the name in medium trucks

Turbo that rig with a holset hx35, and youll be so happy with it.
I remember reading somewhere that there were a few guys runnign turbo 300-6 fords and had awesome luck.
My turbo 5liter mustang was awesome fun...10psi made it lots of happy (i had the anderson pms piggyback tuner)
You just about cant think diesel with out thinking Cummings,Cat,Detriot, ect,I guess they got the right to say "Legendary"as well, their a main stay in the diesel community, and for good reason,Cummings does build about the best diesels there are,Ive heard tales of some turning in a million miles in the big rigs, and daily driver Dodge cummings equipped trucks putting down 800 plus horse power at the rear tires, with nothing more than bolt on mods that most anyone could get,Pretty impressive.
Well folks think it's dirt cheap to fix,or mod a cummins, yea on a 12 and 24 valve but that's about where it stops. And the million mile reputation cummins made... Well it's no longer gonna hold up.
